Accord Party presidential candidate and National Chairman, Professor Christopher Imumolen, has withdrawn from the 2027 presidential race and endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term.
Imumolen announced at a news conference in Lagos on Friday, saying the decision followed consultations with the party’s leadership and members.
He said Tinubu’s economic reforms, leadership, youth empowerment and commitment to policy continuity made him the best candidate for 2027.
Imumolen, who admitted previously criticising the President, said he now believes Tinubu’s administration is making progress and should be allowed to consolidate its reforms.

He said national interest should take precedence over personal ambition, adding that continuity in governance would help attract investment, create jobs and strengthen institutions.
Imumolen said Accord would support Tinubu for president while still fielding candidates for governorship, legislative and other elections nationwide.
