Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is reportedly under pressure to leave Galatasaray as tensions between the Nigerian forward and the Turkish champions continue to grow.
The situation has reportedly intensified after Osimhen disclosed that Galatasaray had yet to pay his salaries for the past three months.
The 27-year-old striker was also involved in another incident during Sunday night’s pre-season friendly against Rennes, which ended in a 3-3 draw, after he reportedly declined the captain’s armband when it was offered to him.
The developments appear to have strained the relationship between the player and the club and could reopen the door for interested clubs to pursue his signature before the close of the transfer window.
Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur are reported to have submitted an offer of about €60 million for the striker, but Galatasaray rejected the proposal.
Another Premier League club, Chelsea, are also said to have renewed their interest in the Nigerian forward.
Meanwhile, Spanish giants Atletico Madrid have reportedly made contact with Galatasaray to enquire about Osimhen’s substantial salary package at the club.
Reports also indicate that the striker’s representative was in Madrid for discussions over a possible transfer.
Osimhen joined Galatasaray permanently after an impressive spell with the club and has established himself as one of the team’s key attacking players.
However, the reported salary dispute and growing interest from European clubs could put his future in Istanbul under renewed uncertainty as the transfer window approaches its closing stages.
