In a statement issued on Tuesday in Jos, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Alfred Alabo, said the incident involved officers deployed to secure the strategic national training institution.

According to the statement, the command expressed regret over the loss of lives, confirming that three operatives died during the attack.

The police said security operatives have since been reinforced at the facility, while patrols in the surrounding area have been intensified under the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Bassey Ewah.

Authorities further assured residents that the situation has been brought under control and that normal activities have resumed in the area.

The command also stated that a full investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack and identify those responsible.

Residents were urged to remain calm, go about their lawful activities, and cooperate with security agencies as investigations continue.

The police added that further updates would be communicated as more information becomes available.
