The President of the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA), Dr Safiyyah Hassan Shaibu, has led a Sallah humanitarian outreach aimed at supporting military families and promoting community welfare in Abuja.

The event, which took place on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the Guards Brigade Sports Complex, Aguiyi Ironsi Cantonment, Asokoro, featured the distribution of relief and welfare packages to beneficiaries, including members of the military community and families of fallen heroes.

Organised as part of NAOWA’s humanitarian initiatives, the outreach was designed to bring relief and festive cheer to vulnerable families during the Sallah celebration while strengthening bonds within the military community.

Speaking at the event, Dr Shaibu described Sallah as a period of sacrifice, compassion, and generosity, urging individuals and organisations to extend support to those in need.

She reaffirmed NAOWA’s commitment to sustaining humanitarian programmes that promote social welfare, compassion, and improved living conditions for families within and outside the military community.

The NAOWA President also encouraged members of NASWA and the wider society to embrace empathy, peaceful coexistence, and selfless service, particularly during festive seasons.

Beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful, as they received relief materials and welfare support packages.
