The Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr Samuel Ogbuku, has said that ongoing institutional reforms and digitisation efforts will significantly improve service delivery and operational efficiency within the commission.

Ogbuku made this known during a visit to the commission’s office in Yenagoa, according to a statement issued on Monday by the Director of Corporate Affairs, Mrs Seledi Thompson-Wakama.

He explained that the reform agenda is part of management’s broader strategy to reposition the NDDC and modernise its operations for improved performance and accountability.

According to him, the ongoing digitisation programme will streamline internal processes, reduce bureaucratic delays, and enhance transparency in project execution and administrative functions.

“The reforms will streamline workflow processes and eliminate bureaucratic bottlenecks affecting service delivery,” Ogbuku said.

He added that the digitisation initiative is expected to promote accountability and strengthen operational efficiency across all departments of the commission.

“The digitisation programme will promote transparency, accountability and operational efficiency within the commission,” he stated.

Ogbuku expressed optimism that the reforms would make the NDDC more responsive to the developmental needs of the Niger Delta region, while also improving service delivery outcomes.

He also noted that the engagement with staff provided an opportunity to strengthen internal communication and reinforce the management’s transformation agenda.

The NDDC boss urged staff members to embrace the reforms and remain committed to achieving the commission’s development objectives.

“The commitment of members of staff remains central to our drive towards delivering sustainable development projects and improved living standards for the people,” he said.

He further stressed that professionalism and cooperation among staff would be critical to the successful implementation of the reforms.

In his remarks, the Director of the NDDC Bayelsa Office, Mr Godknows Alamieyeseigha, expressed support for the reform process, assuring that staff would continue to deliver quality service to the region.
