Justice Mohammed Nasir Yunusa of the Federal High Court, Kano Division, has reportedly died after collapsing at his residence in Kano State.
Sources disclosed that the judge was rushed to a local hospital following the incident but was later pronounced dead.
Confirming the development, the Director of Information of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, Catherine Oby Christopher, said Justice Yunusa died at the State Medical Centre in Kano.

He has since been buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
Justice Yunusa was widely recognised for handling several high-profile cases during his time on the Federal High Court bench in Kano.
One of his notable rulings came after the 2023 general elections when the Federal High Court in Kano clarified that it had not nullified the candidature of the then Abia State Governor-elect, Dr Alex Otti.
The court had, however, nullified the election of Labour Party candidates in Kano State who participated in the 2023 general elections.
Justice Yunusa had explained that the Abia candidates were not parties before his court and therefore the court lacked jurisdiction to make orders concerning the issuance of certificates of return in their cases.
“This court lacks jurisdiction to make an order for the issuance of a certificate of return. They are at liberty to seek redress in the appropriate Division of the court,” he had ruled.

The suit was filed by one Ibrahim Haruna-Ibrahim, who sought an order revoking certificates of return issued to all Labour Party candidates declared winners in Kano and across the 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The respondents in the matter were the Labour Party and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
