Nigeria Premier Football League side, Wikki Tourists FC have announced the death of defender Kabiru Mohammed following a fatal road accident along the Zaria-Gusau road.
The club confirmed the tragic incident in a statement posted on its official Facebook page on Thursday, describing the loss as a devastating blow to the team and the football community.

Mohammed featured in 26 league matches for Wikki Tourists during the 2025/26 NPFL season after joining the club from Lobi Stars. He quickly became an important figure in the team’s defence, earning admiration from teammates, coaches and supporters for his dedication and professionalism.
His last appearance for the club came in the President’s Federation Cup match against Jigawa Golden Stars Junior Team at the Nasara Stadium, Kofar Doka, Zaria, on May 19, 2026, just days before the fatal accident.
“The club is deeply saddened to announce the tragic death of Mohammed following a fatal accident along the Zaria-Gusau road,” the club said in its statement.

“The Management, Technical Crew, Players and supporters of Wikki Tourists FC extend heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and the entire football community over this painful loss.”
The Nigeria Premier Football League also paid tribute to the late defender on X, expressing sympathy to his family, teammates and the entire Wikki Tourists family.
