Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, on Friday carried out an unscheduled inspection of ongoing infrastructure projects in Eket and Nsit Ubium Local Government Areas, directing contractors to accelerate work and adhere strictly to project timelines.

The inspection covered key projects including the 2.4km Ofriyo Road with a 120-metre bridge linking Nsit Ubium and Eket LGAs, the General Hospital and Model Primary School in Nsit Ubium, as well as the dualisation of the 11.6km Ikot Imoh–Strabag Junction–Eket Road.

Governor Eno said the exercise was part of efforts to ensure the timely delivery of critical infrastructure projects across the state under the ARISE Agenda.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to people-centred development, noting that ongoing projects are designed to improve rural connectivity, stimulate economic growth and enhance living standards.

While expressing satisfaction with the quality and pace of work on some sites, the governor urged contractors to intensify efforts to avoid delays and ensure delivery in line with agreed specifications and timelines.

He also stressed that regular project monitoring would remain a key strategy of his administration to enforce accountability and ensure value for public funds.
