The Deputy Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Adamu Oyanki, on Monday morning survived a road traffic accident along the Keffi–Akwanga highway.
The incident, which occurred at about 10 a.m., reportedly left the vehicle conveying the Deputy Speaker extensively damaged.
The wreckage was later removed and transported to the State House of Assembly complex in Lafia.
Following the development, the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Dr. Danladi Jatau, led some lawmakers to inspect the damaged vehicle at the Assembly premises.
Speaking after the inspection, Jatau expressed gratitude to God for sparing the life of the Deputy Speaker, describing the incident as unfortunate but relieving, as no casualty was recorded.
“We thank Almighty God for protecting the life of the Deputy Speaker during the accident. We are grateful that he came out alive and safe,” the Speaker said.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the cause of the crash, while further details surrounding the incident are expected to emerge as investigations continue.
