The Ogun State Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Femi Soluade, has reaffirmed the legitimacy of the party’s ongoing screening and congress processes, insisting that all activities are being conducted in line with directives from the recognised national leadership.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday at the party’s state secretariat in Abeokuta, Soluade disclosed that a National Screening Committee, duly constituted by the party’s leadership, is currently in the state to screen aspirants ahead of the congresses.
“The presence of the committee underscores the legitimacy and proper coordination of the congress process,” he said, adding that the exercise is progressing smoothly with adequate arrangements to ensure transparency and credibility.

The state chairman warned that any meetings held outside the party’s official secretariat should be regarded as null and void, stressing that the State Executive Committee remains fully operational and in charge of party affairs.
Soluade also raised concerns over the activities of a group he described as an “Apex Committee,” allegedly set up by one Dimeji Fabiyi, whom he accused of falsely claiming membership of the party’s National Executive Committee.
“For the avoidance of doubt, he is not recognised by the legitimate leadership of the party. Any committee constituted by him has no legitimacy, and its decisions are null and void,” he stated.
Reassuring party members, Soluade said the leadership of the ADC in Ogun State remains united and committed to upholding internal democracy.
He confirmed that all congresses across the state will proceed as scheduled, in line with party guidelines, and urged aspirants, delegates, and supporters to remain peaceful and law-abiding throughout the process.

The ADC chairman reiterated the party’s commitment to due process and discipline, warning that it would not allow unauthorised individuals or groups to disrupt its activities in the state.
