NYSC ANNOUNCES APRIL 22 FOR 2026 BATCH ‘A’ STREAM II ORIENTATION COURSE

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Orientation Course will commence nationwide on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.

This was disclosed in a circular issued by the NYSC Directorate Headquarters in Abuja and signed by the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS), Nura Umar, on behalf of the Director-General.

According to the circular dated April 7, 2026, the orientation course will hold across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The NYSC stated that registration for prospective corps members will begin on Wednesday, April 22, and end on Friday, April 24, 2026.

It added that the cut-off date for registration is midnight of Friday, April 24, 2026, while the swearing-in ceremony for the corps members will also take place on the same day.

The scheme further disclosed that the three-week orientation exercise will officially close on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.

The circular was addressed to Directors and Acting Directors, State and FCT Coordinators, Deputy and Assistant Directors, as well as all staff of the scheme, urging them to take note of the schedule and necessary action.

The NYSC orientation course is the first phase of the one-year national service programme designed to prepare graduates for their service year, promote national unity and integration.
