…Announces Scholarships, Prizes for Winners

The Special Assistant to the Akwa Ibom State Governor on Grassroots Mobilization, Mr. Richard Sendy, in collaboration with the TRS Care Foundation, is set to host a Children’s Mega Easter Party in Eket Local Government Area as part of activities marking the 2026 Easter celebration.
The event, scheduled to hold on April 6, 2026, at the Okon Civic Centre in Eket at 2:00 p.m., is designed to celebrate children, provide them with a platform to showcase their talents and abilities.
According to the organizers, the Easter party aims to recognize the creativity and potential of children while creating opportunities that could help shape their future. They also revealed that scholarships and prizes will be awarded to outstanding participants and winners in various activities during the event.
The organizers described the initiative as a community-focused programme that seeks to encourage children, inspire excellence and promote positive engagement among young people in the area.
The Children’s Mega Easter Party will feature several fun-filled activities including playpens for toddlers, bouncing castles, colourful mascots, clowns and comedians, balloon games, dance sessions, family games, group activities as well as music and other entertainment.
Children attending the event will also enjoy refreshments such as treats, ice cream and popcorn, while parents and guardians are expected to participate in some of the family-oriented activities.
Mr. Sendy noted that the initiative demonstrates his commitment to nurturing talent from the grassroots to greatness, in line with the Arise Agenda of the Governor, His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno, while adding that providing platforms for children to develop and showcase their potential remains a top priority.
