The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has felicitated with Christians across Nigeria on the occasion of Easter Sunday, expressing confidence that the nation will ultimately overcome the scourge of corruption.
Speaking in Abuja on Saturday, April 4, 2026, Olukoyede said: “We are not defined by corruption, we cannot be defeated by it.”
He urged Nigerians to embrace the lessons of Easter, which symbolize victory over trial, adversity, and death, as a source of inspiration for collective national progress.
“The lesson of Easter is all about undeniable victory over trial, corruption, and death.
This lesson is instructive for us as a nation. We will surely overcome the trial and trauma of corruption,” Olukoyede stated.
He further encouraged citizens to maintain hope and continue supporting the EFCC in its relentless fight against economic and financial crimes, emphasizing that public cooperation is key to eradicating corruption in all its forms.
Olukoyede’s message comes amid renewed calls for accountability, transparency, and ethical leadership in both public and private sectors, reminding Nigerians that the Easter spirit reflects resilience, renewal, and triumph over challenges.
