Troops of the 35 Artillery Brigade have intercepted 296 large wraps of substances suspected to be Cannabis Sativa in Ogun State, in a decisive action against drug-related activities.
According to a statement signed by Major Idereghi Samuel Akari, Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, the interception occurred on Abeokuta–Igboora Road around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 1st, 2026, following a strategic tip-off on the movement of the illegal substances.
The troops recovered the items, which were concealed in three large sacks and being transported on an unregistered motorcycle.
The suspect abandoned the motorcycle, fled into nearby bushes under the cover of darkness.

The recovered items have been handed over to the Ogun State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation and action.
The 35 Artillery Brigade reaffirmed its commitment to making Ogun State unsafe for drug traffickers and other criminal elements. It urged offenders to engage in legitimate business or face arrest by security agencies.

The Brigade also reassured the public of its dedication to protecting lives and properties, maintaining a strong security presence across the state, and preventing criminal activities from operating with impunity.
