The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has directed that its Local Government Congress scheduled for Saturday must not commence earlier than 12 noon across all local government areas of the state.
The directive was contained in a statement issued by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Femi Nuberu, and made available to journalists on Saturday.
“As we proceed to the Local Government Congress scheduled to hold today, 21st of February, 2026, the party leadership hereby directs that no Local Government should commence the exercise earlier than 12:00 noon,” Nuberu stated.
He explained that the decision was aimed at ensuring proper coordination, uniformity, and transparency in the conduct of the congress statewide.
The party urged officials, electoral officers, aspirants, and members to strictly comply with the directive and maintain peace and order throughout the exercise.
“Our party remains committed to internal democracy, fairness, and credible processes, and we are confident that today’s exercise will further strengthen the unity and structure of our party,” the statement added.
The APC also commended members, leaders, and stakeholders for what it described as exemplary conduct during the Ward Congress held on Wednesday, noting that the peaceful atmosphere recorded reflected the maturity and unity of its members.
It further appreciated the spirit of sportsmanship, cooperation, and respect for due process displayed during the earlier exercise.
