Justice Abubakar Adamu of the Sokoto State High Court has convicted and sentenced Rilwanu Yusuf to two years’ imprisonment for cheating in connection with a money-doubling scam.
Yusuf was jailed on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, after pleading guilty to a one-count charge of cheating.
The court heard that the convict fraudulently obtained the sum of N430,000.00 from unsuspecting victims under the false pretends that he possessed the power to double money.
His actions were found to be in contravention of Section 310 of the Sokoto State Penal Code Law and punishable under Section 311 of the same law.
Upon his guilty plea, Justice Adamu convicted and sentenced him accordingly.
