Dr. Kayode Akinsola, founding partner of Queens Attorney LP and Dean of the College of Law, Chrisland University, Abeokuta, has been appointed as the 1st Vice Chairman of the Taxation Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL) for a two-year term.
The appointment, which takes immediate effect, places Akinsola in a key leadership position within the NBA-SBL, a section of the Bar known for shaping policy discourse and advancing professional development in corporate and commercial law practice in Nigeria.
The development was conveyed in a letter dated February 5 and signed by the Secretary of the NBA-SBL, Ayoyinka Olajide-Awosedo.
The letter stated that the appointment took effect from February 1, 2026, and will terminate on January 31, 2028.
“On behalf of the Executive Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association – Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL), I write to inform you of your appointment as 1st Vice Chairman of the Taxation Committee of the Section,” the letter read in part.
It added that Akinsola is required to communicate his acceptance by signing the Terms of Reference and returning same to the Section Administrator.
The NBA-SBL Tax Committee plays a central role in reviewing fiscal legislation, engaging with regulatory authorities, contributing to tax policy reforms, and providing thought leadership on emerging issues in taxation, compliance and fiscal governance.
As 1st Vice Chairman, Akinsola will support the Committee Chairman in coordinating activities, driving research initiatives, facilitating stakeholder engagements and promoting capacity-building programmes for legal practitioners specialising in taxation.
A respected academic and legal practitioner, Akinsola is widely recognised for his contributions to legal scholarship and institutional development.
