Abia South Senator, Enyinnaya Abaribe, has predicted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will lose the 2027 presidential election, insisting that the mood of Nigerians has turned decisively against the current administration.
Abaribe made the assertion on Monday, December 15 during an appearance on Politics Today, a political programme aired on Channels Television.
According to the senator, elections are never guaranteed victories for any individual, adding that President Tinubu would not be an exception in 2027.
“Everybody loses elections at some point, and you will see that Tinubu will lose the 2027 election, I know what Nigerians are feeling outside,” Abaribe said.
He further alleged that the President did not genuinely win the 2023 presidential election, however, was merely declared the winner.
The lawmaker, however, stressed that the next election would be different, warning that what he described as last minute declarations would no longer be possible.

“We are going to meet him in the field, we will see how he will couple together that thing which will make him win again. It will not work… This time, everybody will be ready”, he said.
Abaribe added that Nigerians, particularly the masses, are politically alert, prepared to defend their votes in the next general election.
“It will no longer be an announcement at 3am, such that before people wake up in the morning, he has been declared winner. No, it will not work anymore. This time, we are ready, the masses are even more ready,” the Senator concluded.
The comments come amid growing political permutations ahead of the 2027 general elections, with opposition figures increasingly vocal about their plans to challenge the ruling party.
